Build performance into every layer.
Bring films and functional layers together to achieve the required sealing, strength and barrier properties. The adhesive system, drying, curing and end use determine the right configuration.

Solventless lamination
A route to bonding flexible webs without a solvent-drying stage. Adhesive mixing, coating weight and cure conditions still need careful control.
Multi-technology lamination
Solvent-based, water-based and solventless routes offer different process options. Configure the line around materials, adhesive and application.
Functional coating
Add cold seal, heat seal or other specialist coatings with suitable application and drying systems.

From separate webs to a combined structure
Lamination joins flexible webs so different layers can contribute printability, mechanical protection, barrier performance or sealing. The final pack performance depends on the complete structure and its validated adhesive system.
Prepare two webs
Unwind the materials with suitable alignment and tension. Confirm the print, surface treatment and adhesive compatibility.
Apply adhesive
Meter a controlled adhesive layer. Solventless systems use an appropriate roller application system; solvent- or water-based routes require suitable drying before the webs are joined.
Combine and rewind
Bring the webs together at the laminating nip and rewind the combined structure. Allow the adhesive system’s required cure before downstream approval.
What we review with you
- Bond quality
- Review coating consistency, wetting, mixing requirements and cure with the adhesive supplier. Visual appearance alone does not establish bond suitability.
- End-use conditions
- Specify filling, storage and any thermal process. Coffee packs, stick packs and retort structures have different validation requirements.
- Process versus model
- Dryers, coating heads and interchangeable application systems are configuration choices, not features guaranteed on every laminator.
Process education adapted from Comexi training materials, not operating instructions or guaranteed model specifications. Confirm equipment and operating limits in the approved proposal.
